The Genes Done Good!

When Mark and I were first married we used to wonder what our children would look like and BE like.  We hoped our genes would blend well together to make, well how should I say it?
Good kids both inside and out.
Well I am happy to say the I believe we have done pretty well!
Just look at how gorgeous Whitney is...
And the greatest thing is she is not only beautiful on the outside she is a wonderful person on the inside.  She is caring and kind.  She is intelligent and smart.  She loves people and her Savior.
So here's to a pat on the back for  Mark and I and our wonderful genes!!!

Guess Who Got Accepted to SUU!!!!

We are so proud of Whitney.  She got her FIRST College acceptance letter today.  And the best news is that it is the college of MY choice.  :)  I just really would love it if Whitney would stay close to home.  Southern Utah University is a great school and it is about 3 miles from our house.  YESSSSS!
I have just worried so much about having Whitney and Jordan gone at the same time.  I am not ready for that right now.  So hopefully Whitney will decide to stay here and go to SUU.  She is an extraordinary young lady and I know she will do great things in her life.  While she awaits her future tomorrow she will begin her LAST semester of High School.  She has a "tough"schedule.  With choir, weights, seminary, lifetime sports,  TA for her dad, math, financial lit, and creative writing!  Now that is a good schedule!!!  She has done so well in school thus far she doesn't really have many classes left to take.  So she mainly gets to have fun this last semester.  As it should be.  :)

We made special brownie with Andies Mints and Hershey Bars in them.
We only frosted 3/4 of it because not everyone likes the frosting.  :)

Proud Sissy!  I am not the only one that would love
for Whitney to stay close to home for college.

Phillip made her a cute strawberry cupcake with an umbrella in it
to celebrate!

Happy New Year AND 1 YEAR!!!!!!

Tomorrow... Jan 4th will mark one year that Jordan has been gone.  Living without one of your children for entire year is EXTREMELY difficult!  But when you live without them because you have given them back to The Lord for a short time it eases your pain.  It is a pain and a joy that I believe only mothers of missionaries can understand.  I've said it before, "There is NO WHERE else I would rather he be.  And I know with all my heart that Jordan serving a mission in Honduras is part of our Heavenly Fathers plan for him."  But still sometimes  my heart hurts and I want to hug him, hear his laugh, talk to him, and see him smile.  I am excited because everything from here on out will be on the down hill slope!

Thank you Elder Comstock for being an example to all of us
and serving your Heavenly Father with honor.

This is Jordan on his birthday back in Nov.
We sent "ourselves" to Honduras so
we could celebrate him turning 20 with him!

First day in the MTC.
With his really TALL Companion.
Elder Oveson.

Saying goodbye to Elder Comstock.

Christmas day in Honduras!
I love that you can see the light emulating from these boys!
