Cereal and Comstocks go together like salt and pepper, Romeo and Juliet and uh.. for me diet coke and lime! :) Anyone with the last name Comstock knows that cereal is just a staple needed to sustain life.
*SIDENOTE: I grew up with the last name Jordan and have been a Comstock for about 22 years so cereal to me is not so much of a staple.
Mark and all his brothers and sisters will agree on the importance of cereal. One night about 10:00 Mark got a text from one of his sisters. It said.. Are you eating a bowl of cereal right now? I am!
And yes he was eating a bowl of cereal too. :) Jordan, Whitney, Courtney, and Madee have all followed their fathers example and his love of cereal. Poor Jordan is not able to eat cereal while he is on his mission. He says the electricity goes out so often he is not able to keep milk in his apartment so... NO CEREAL for about 2 years. Sad for him. :(
At our house we always have an abundance of cereal. On Saturday Mark and I were at the store buying essential items. milk, eggs, chicken etc. And he said, "We should get some cereal." I told him we had plenty of cereal to which he said, "No most of the boxes in the pantry are empty." Now I would not know this because as a said earlier I don't eat cereal like the rest of my family. So this is what are pantry looked like. And YES many of the boxes were just about empty! Now children, if you read this... When the cereal is about or ALL the way gone let me know. When I look in the pantry I think we have PLENTY of cereal.

I Love To See The Temple
Mark and I had a great day at the St. George temple yesterday. One of our favorite people went to the temple to take out her endowments in preparation for her mission to Orlando Florida. K'loni is like a daughter to Mark and I and a big sister to my girls. She has been a good friend of Jordan's for many years also. She is a great example to all of us. Our family has been blessed with her association. Not only did she take out her endowments yesterday but her dad did too. K'loni's mom passed away in a tragic car accident almost a year ago. She and her dad and brother and sister have plans to go and be sealed as a family in April. We are so happy for them. And so grateful we were invited to share their special day.

The Genes Done Good!
When Mark and I were first married we used to wonder what our children would look like and BE like. We hoped our genes would blend well together to make, well how should I say it?
Good kids both inside and out.
Well I am happy to say the I believe we have done pretty well!
Just look at how gorgeous Whitney is...
And the greatest thing is she is not only beautiful on the outside she is a wonderful person on the inside. She is caring and kind. She is intelligent and smart. She loves people and her Savior.
So here's to a pat on the back for Mark and I and our wonderful genes!!!

Guess Who Got Accepted to SUU!!!!
We are so proud of Whitney. She got her FIRST College acceptance letter today. And the best news is that it is the college of MY choice. :) I just really would love it if Whitney would stay close to home. Southern Utah University is a great school and it is about 3 miles from our house. YESSSSS!
I have just worried so much about having Whitney and Jordan gone at the same time. I am not ready for that right now. So hopefully Whitney will decide to stay here and go to SUU. She is an extraordinary young lady and I know she will do great things in her life. While she awaits her future tomorrow she will begin her LAST semester of High School. She has a "tough"schedule. With choir, weights, seminary, lifetime sports, TA for her dad, math, financial lit, and creative writing! Now that is a good schedule!!! She has done so well in school thus far she doesn't really have many classes left to take. So she mainly gets to have fun this last semester. As it should be. :)
We made special brownie with Andies Mints and Hershey Bars in them. We only frosted 3/4 of it because not everyone likes the frosting. :)
Proud Sissy! I am not the only one that would love for Whitney to stay close to home for college.
Phillip made her a cute strawberry cupcake with an umbrella in it to celebrate!

Happy New Year AND 1 YEAR!!!!!!
Tomorrow... Jan 4th will mark one year that Jordan has been gone. Living without one of your children for entire year is EXTREMELY difficult! But when you live without them because you have given them back to The Lord for a short time it eases your pain. It is a pain and a joy that I believe only mothers of missionaries can understand. I've said it before, "There is NO WHERE else I would rather he be. And I know with all my heart that Jordan serving a mission in Honduras is part of our Heavenly Fathers plan for him." But still sometimes my heart hurts and I want to hug him, hear his laugh, talk to him, and see him smile. I am excited because everything from here on out will be on the down hill slope!
Thank you Elder Comstock for being an example to all of us
and serving your Heavenly Father with honor.

Christmas 2012
Our good looking nephew/cousin Dahlin
Our Nativity
Courtney reading the story of Christ's birth from Luke
We did not get out of school until the 21st of December this year so Christmas came FAST! We went to mom and dad's house for Christmas Eve and had are traditional dinner, program, and gift opening. We had a great program that began with acting out the Nativity and then lots of musical entertainment. The "Jordan Family Band" played for us. Madee sang "When Christmas Comes to Town, Megan played the violin and so did Ashley. Dahlin played the piano. And Adrienne Tawa, the choir teacher at the high school spent Christmas Eve with us and she sang a song with Jill. We ate LOTS of good food and then opened a few gifts.
Great picture of Whitney and Grandpa with their eyes closed!
Then we came home and opened our
"Night before Christmas presents"
from Grandma and Grandpa Comstock.
Here we are modeling our Christmas PJ's!
Our one lone stocking left up that Santa did not fill. :(
We sure miss Jordan!!!!
Our most exciting Christmas present ALL the way from Honduras!!!!
Santa Came!
The Gingerbread house we made in Denver in October.
I love all the fruit stripe gun!!!!
Here are the girls holding our LAST present.
We saved the best one for last!
Jordan sent a Honduran flag for Mark to hang in his classroom.
And the girls and I some bracelets with our names on them. :)
BEST PART OF THE DAY!!!!!!
We spent 3 hours SKYPING Jordan! It was SOOOOO great!!
Everyone was just laughing at me when Jordan first came up on the screen I just started screaming and jumping up and down. I was so excited I couldn't contain myself. It was so amazing to see his face and hear his voice. I was a hard day for him I think. His first Christmas away from home and in a foreign country with a companion that he struggles a bit with. He said his companion got nothing for Christmas. I feel so bad I did not think of that. But he took some of the stuff we sent him and some things from his grandparents and put them in the stocking I sent him and gave it to his companion. What a sweet boy he is to do that. :) He is doing such great things on his mission!!!We are all so proud of him. All in all it was a great Christmas! We are so blessed. We have a great life and the Savior has bestowed so many wonderful blessing upon us.
2013 HERE WE COME!!!!
We look forward to what this next year has in store for us.
